I love analyzing my native language, American English, and helping non-native speakers make sense of it. I've been doing this for fun with friends who speak English as a second language for nearly 30 years. Coming from
You can say you don't know where someone is 'coming from' if you don't understand their point of view.
Example:
-I think we should just ignore them.
-But why? I don't understand where you're coming from.
